Today, we keep reading "Fences" and had a mini-lesson on characterization. I learned about indirect and direct characterization a long with the ways authors use them. I liked this lesson because I learned how to use the STEAL method to organize indirect characterization as well as signs that show direct characterization. The book is also getting good, and everyone is getting invested in the story. Today, I feel okay. The football game was moved to today, however I'm not too sure if it will go on or if we will go. I hope we win however.
When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?
When I'm in a unfavorable mood, I try to do activities that I enjoy. For instance, when I am angry, I drum and hit as hard as I can as a way to relieve the tension building up. When I'm upset, I play video games or talk on the phone with friends to distract myself from whatever made me upset. When I'm stressed, I watch videos about interesting or niche topics. Today, we created a digital mood board on The Yellow Wallpaper. With the help of AI and using quotes from the text, we created moods boards that depicted the narrator's emotions at the 3 major stages of the story. This was a fun and easy way to end the week, finally allowing us to use AI to do work. Today, I feel tired. I slept late and had to wake up for my Calculus class at GSU. I got home late so I didn't get to have an adequate nap, so I want to catch up on the sleep I missed.
